The entire NSVH team is over the moon and excited to announce that NSVH is finally carrying Librela in our clinic!

Librela is a groundbreaking new treatment for dogs with osteoarthritis (OA). Librela is a monoclonal antibody that specifically targets a key driver of OA pain.

Librela provides long-term pain control with once monthly injections. We administer the injection in our clinic, which means clients will no longer have to administer daily oral medications for OA pain!

Unlike with oral pain medications, monitoring bloodwork is not required for patients on Librela. The safety margin for this injection is very high, with minimal side effects reported. In a clinical study, the most common side effects in dogs taking Librela vs placebo (no medicine) were urinary tract infection, bacterial skin infection, and dermatitis, and were similar for dogs taking placebo.
